Part III and IV: Swim Party! Beach Fun!

I have had an outstanding week off - what a great vacation. I'm not sure (especially considering the horrible spring and early summer we've  endured) I could have chosen a better week.  I got to spend a lot of time with Eli and Abby (and their moms whom I'm especially fond of!), got in a couple of great rides and overall, relaxed.  It was a great idea to stick around home.

Thursday Melissa and Abby invited me to their backyard for a swim party. Kelsey and Eli joined us, as well as Melissa's neighbors daughter, also Michele (but spelled incorrectly - two 'Ls'???) and her daughter Zoe joined in the fun.  Melissa served us a great lunch and Kelsey brought cookies and our choice of Popsicles! YUMMY!

Thursday night, mostly to get out of the heat of my house, I walked to downtown Edmonds to see Toy Story III.  I highly recommend it even if you're not a kid - I laughed, cried, cringed, recognized and related.  And, I cooled off. By the time I walked home it was pleasant out and I enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen this year.

Today, Melissa, Kelsey, Eli and Abby met me down at the Edmonds' beach and we were treated to a low tide where we saw, sea stars, jelly fish, hermit crabs and sea cucumbers. Eli enjoyed the trains that passed by and we walked by a construction site - nothing like seeing a steam shovel (probably not steam-driven) in real life!
