McKation

The McKay family joins annually for Memorial Day weekend - a time they all refer to as “McKation.” This year’s gathering included me and what a year to be invited! Eleven of the twelve siblings were there with their children along with a couple of extras like me. All told there were well over 50 of us for dinner each night. It was a wonderful time spent with interesting and fun people. All those siblings produced tons of cousins and it was so much fun to watch them all interact with one another. 

Bringing my constant companion, my bike, I was able to get in a couple of good rides and with the fantastic weather I spent plenty of the time by the pool. 

There's talk I won't get invited back because I didn’t bring any baked goods – I brought red vines and tried to convince the power that be I had made them and therefore they were similar to ‘baked goods.’ I'm not even sure how red vines are made and that probably contributed to my weak argument. It was a great weekend!
