Thank you for your interest in the LOTOJA CLASSIC and for taking the time to submit an online application.  This year's response to our open registration period was at an all time high so it's taken some extra time to go through each and every application.  We appreciate your patience.

This email is sent to inform you that your application was NOT SELECTED for the 2010 LOTOJA CLASSIC.

I received this email at 1:20 this morning. 

I am truly disappointed - more disappointed than I expected. For nearly six months I have been nursing this dream. Even so there was a part of me that suspected I would be relived if I didn't get in simply because it is a big stretch for me. But lately I really visualized myself doing it and succeeding - I even picked out a background song that could play in my head during those especially grueling times when I would question whether I had the sort of determination to complete the ride.

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment

Okay, I admit it, I am a closet rap music lover. I only listen to it when I'm working out or riding. 

As far as the LOTOJA, maybe next year. Perhaps that will be a goal for my 55 year of life. 

Always the Pollyanna I immediately began to consider the upside; my training schedule just got easier and who knows what new opportunities and experiences will fill this void of disappointment.
