The bookend of my riding season culminated with the Kitsap Color Classic and what a fantastic day it was. The weather could not have been more beautiful and quintessential fall-like. Pure blue skies, temperature in the low 60s, and the trees in almost full color, it made me feel blessed that I lived in the northwest. The ride was impromptu - Saturday morning an acquaintance stopped me at my health club inviting me to ride with her. We had been looking for an opportunity to ride together and this worked out perfectly.
We completed the Hansville and Port Gamble loop for a total of 64 miles and since the ride began and ended in Edmonds, we both rode to the ferry and that gave us five extra bonus miles - I am tired but happy.
I think finding new friends exemplifies the adage; the best things in life are free. Thank you for the invitation Kathy - I had a great time!
